I work long hours as an ICU nurse and the best part of my day was Gizmo running up to me and meowing to greet me when I got home. She would follow me all around the house, sit on my lap and she’d even sit on my face when I was sleeping no matter which side I would roll over to. She was such a happy kitty and my very best friend. She always seemed to know when I was sad and how to help.
It’s going to be so hard for me without her but I know she was in pain. When she stopped purring I knew it was time. I am grateful she was here with me as I have felt so isolated during this pandemic. I miss her so much and will always treasure the moments we spent together.
Thank you to the wonderful staff who allowed me to be with her during her last moments. Dr. Hilles was very kind to Gizmo and I. Thank you all for the work you do.
