I have been going to Scottsdale Vet Clinic since 1969 when it was owned by Dr William Powell, one of Arizona\'s first veterinarians, who opened the clinic in 1957 on Scottsdale Road and Virgina. Later on when he passed away as a still practicing Vet, Dr Scott Hoyer purchased the clinic and carried on the tradition of superb care. Years later he then moved it to 68th Place and Thomas. He retired and sold the clinic to Dr Bill Langhofer who then became my vet too. So, Scottsdale Vet Clinic has been my clinic with well educated, VERY animal loving vets all these years.
Not long later, the chance to expand into a very large facility at 7311 E. Thomas presented itself. So The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic moved a few blocks east.

I have to say they don\'t try to make you spend tons of money to help your pet. They get to the root of an illness quickly, treat it concisely, and are willing to use whatever it takes to keep your pet healthy and long lived with quality of life. The vets here treated my cats and dogs in a way that is emotionally giving, loving, and hands on with gentleness and an almost psychic knowledge of how my pet is feeling to better treat them. My pets have lived well into their teens due to the wonderful care they\'ve received thru all their lives.
I highly recommend all the vets, Dr Langhofer, Dr D\'Monte, Dr Wright, Dr Kryda, and all the wonderful staff that assist the vets. |

I have multiple animals, some with cronic problems and rare illnesses. The doctors here have always given my pets the best care I could hope for. They are respectful of my concerns and my budget. After my dog, Pinto, was diagnosed with an agressive lymphoma Dr. Wright treated him with agressive chemotherapy. He kept me up to date on all aspects of Pinto's treatment and when he quit responding to the treatment Dr Wright helped me with Pinto's transition and was with him as we had to let him go.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. D'Monte. Her bedside manner with our anxious dog, Maximus ("Max"), is beyond stellar. She is very patient and kind. When I could not attend a recent appointment for Max, who was attended by my husband, I called and asked to chat with Dr. D'Monte about the results of the appointment. She phoned me back later that night, after what had to be a very long day, since it was almost 8:30 p.m.! I greatly appreciated it. I wouldn't have anyone else examine Max - she's the best.

My wife and I have chosen TSVC's services for three of our dogs: A middle-aged yellow Lab, a very young (< 6 months) Westie, and an old mixed-breed (more on her in a moment). The staff is extraordinarily professional, capable, kind, and sensitive. And the Veterinarians are among the most qualified I've ever known (I used to run a shelter in Ft. Collins, CO - home of Colorado State University, one of our country's finest Vet schools, so I've known many, many Vets).
Our old mix-breed Sadie became quite ill recently, and TSVC diagnosed her condition (cancer throughout), and did absolutely everything possible to reduce her discomfort. However, Sadie finally got to the point where we couldn't mitigate her suffering, so we had to "put her down." In tears, I attended the euthanasia, and could not have received more comfort, support, sensitivity, and respect from the doctor and the entire staff.
These folks don't just really, REALLY care about our pets; the also really, REALLY care about us.
In addition to their refreshing mixture of competence and thoughtfulness, TSVC's prices are more than reasonable, and their hours make their remarkable services available for about 14 hours every single day (including Saturday and Sunday).
We strongly recommend The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic to any pet owner who wants the finest service and care.

I have seen Dr. Langhofer for a few years now and have brought a few different birds to see him. They and I have received excellent care for some injuries they have had and they have done very well in their healing process. I also have seen Dr. Wright for my parrot and he was very caring with my conure\'s issue. I recommend them highly! You can tell they love birds.

Dr. Langhofer has personally treated over 20 of my personal pets in the last 6 years, which includes an Amazon, 4 dogs, 3 cats, 6 ferrets and 6 guinea pigs. We have had several life threatening issues & several emergencies, which he has personally & successfully dealt with, ranging from the most severe to more minor issues. There was never a moment where I feared for my pets under his care & never a moment where he did not go above & beyond for my animals.
The same can be said for Dr. D'Monte. In desperation, I ended up bringing in my 6 month old kitten that was severely misdiagnosed by two previous vets. I was so desperate & terrified that Dr. Langhofer wasn't there, until I met Dr. D'Monte. She spent several days dedicating her time to treating my little baby, coming in early & leaving late every night to give him the best fighting chance she could. She never gave up on him, even when I thought there was no longer hope. She told me, "as long as he keeps fighting, I\'m going to keep fighting for him." That was the most powerful thing she could have ever said & it was truely evident how dedicated she was to doing everything she could for him.
BOTH Drs. Langhofer AND D\'Monte are truely remarkable,repeatedly going above & beyond & never giving up! I can never truely express how grateful I am for both of them!

We met Dr. Langhofer many years ago at an emergency clinic. Since then he has been the only vet we have brought our kids too. We have pet Rats! We would trust no one else unless we had no choice.
We have also gotten to know some of the staff pretty well which makes visiting that much more enjoyable. It\'s nice to have a place to go where they know you, know your pets and treat you with respect and understand your needs!

My sister in PA wishes that she could find a facility like SVC. More importantly, my Sadie (16 yr old Corgie mix) loves visiting whether is is for medical attention, a kennel stay or day care. She always comes home with a smile. Everyone is pleasant, caring, totally professional and knowledgable. When there is a major problem, all work together to research and provide the best care.

We have been taking our rats to Dr. Langhofer for many years now. We first met him many years ago at another location where he worked part time. Since then, he has take the best care of our family pets or should I say children! Not mention the staff! That's right girls, you know who you are! We love you!

I couldn't be more thrilled with my experience at the Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic. I am new to Phoenix and had not had a chance to find a good exotics vet before one of my rabbits required medical attention. One of my friends brings his birds to Dr. Langhofer and recommended him very highly. The staff was very friendly and was able to schedule an appointment for me within 24 hours of my call. When I arrived I saw a variety of animals, including another rabbit and a family with a cockatiel, and this made me feel more confident in their "exotics" credentials. The exam room was clean and free from the smells of other animals, which seemed to put my rabbit at ease. The vet assistant took her time in getting a detailed history of my rabbit and Dr. Langhofer was very patient and thorough in his exam. He explained my options to me very clearly and did not pressure me for unnecessary tests or procedures as has happened with other vets I have seen in the past. I was very impressed with his knowledge of rabbits and understand from talking with my friend that he is also very familiar with avian care and treatment. The pricing of the exam was very reasonable - $65. I have been to other vets before who have claimed to be familiar with rabbits and other "exotics" but none of them can hold a candle to the knowledge and professionalism I have found in Dr. Langhofer. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a good vet.

Dr. Langhofer is probably one of the best Rabbit vets in USA, if not the world. I have ongoing contact with rabbit owners all over the world, and through them know about the treatments they are able to get for their beloved pets. I would say that Dr. Langhofer is more skilled, more enthusiastic, more likely to save a rabbit than most other vets. This is based on my many (rescued) ill rabbits and their varied and terrible problems that he has helped with endless patience and attention. He is innovative; has ability to learn and grow as new info becomes available, yet is not the type to simply follow a trend in vet care. All of my animals come out of operations so much faster and easier than other local vets- and -without the troubles I see as common with the thousands of rabbit owners I network with on rabbit forums. He has vast hands-on experience with rabbits: Knowing what I do about their needs, I would not consider any other vet for teeth issues, heart, age or injury related problems. I have had many rabbits in for ongoing care: from diagnoses to treatment to necropsy, every stage is handled with expertise. He is extremely good at focusing on a problem without wasting money (or stressing animals) on useless tests, is considerate of a persons abilities to provide care, and will try to give the best care under any of my limiting circumstances. If there was a better rabbit vet, I would go, but there is not. I give him 1000stars, not just 5!

Dr. Langhofer is a skilled exotic vet who has a tremendous knowledge of rabbits. Vets who specialize in rabbits (lagomorphs) and other exotic pets are hard to find. The good ones are almost inpossible to find and when you do find one, hold on both both hands and all four paws. Dr. Langhofer is definitely one of the good ones and treated my rabbit appropriately and with a great outcome.

We recently took our Golden in to check a lump on his back. The attending vet found two cysts (one we hadn't seen) and effectively took care of both. In addition, the vet changed our dog's joint pain meds to something brand new. While no meds can make our 12-year old dog a pup again, the new meds definitely improved the quality of his life. Dr. Langhofer and his staff are thorough in their care and have up-to-date medical knowledge. Both of these professional qualities are valued and greatly appreciated.
